Description:
AZCOSEAL is a premium clear acrylic in a solvent solution. Azcoseal is formulated to provide a versatile sealer capable of deep peneration into a wide range of substrates and cures to form a clean, tough (hard) and resilient coating in a satin (semi- gloss) finish. Azcoseal provides a wet-look sealer over pavers, brick, sandstone and masonry surfaces.
CAUTION: Sealed surfaces may be slippery when wet

Uses:

The properties of AZCOSEAL make it ideal for use on:

Encapsulating and sealing friable substrates such as asbestos sheeting.
Sealing and weatherproofing porous substrates such as face brick against rain and salt spray.
Providing a penetrative primer for paint and architectural finishes on to porous substrates or over existing painted surfaces.
Providing a wet-look sealer over pavers, brick, sandstone and masonry surfaces

Suitable Surfaces:

AZCOSEAL can be used successfully on the following substrates if applied as per Data Sheets:

Concrete.
Timber.
Block work.
Bricks.
Cement sheet.
Pavers.
Sandstone.
Masonry Surfaces

Specification

The information contained in this data sheet is general in nature and refers only to the usual use of the product and it should not be construed to be a complete specification. Site conditions vary which may require the use of the products and related products to vary. For specific projects a written specification should be sought from the Company.

Benefits and Advantages:

Quick drying - usually within 1 hour.

Dries tough and hard.

Provides a waterproof and weatherproof barrier against water ingress.

Minimises surfaces fragmentation as it has excellent binding properties.

UV resistant, suitable for exposed areas.

Dries clear with an attractive satin finish.

It can be re-coated.

Low dirt pick-up.

Precautions in Use

When applying AZCOSEAL it is strongly recommended that all safety precautions are followed as per product label and data sheet.
As the product contains solvent ensure that all sources of ignition are kept away. Ensure area is well ventilated. Adequate masks should be worn when spraying. Protect surrounds against overspray. Observe all precautions on the Material Safety Data Sheet.
In exposed areas, do not apply if rain is imminent and protect coating from rain and inclement weather until fully cured.

Priming and Preparation

Good preparation is essential. Surfaces must be sound, stable, dry, clean and free of loose, flaking, friable material, dust and substances that may diminish adhesion.

Application

AZCOSEAL can be applied by brush, roller or spray at the following minimum application rates(increase rates for highly porous surfaces):
As an encapsulating binder: Two coats at 4 sq m per litre per coat. Product should be worked well into the substrate.
Clear weatherproof sealer: Two coats at 4 sq m per litre per coat.
As a primer: One coat at 4 sq m per litre.
Trafficable 'wet-look' finish: Three coats at 4 sq m per litre per coat.
Substrates should be clean, dry and sound.
Allow each coat to dry before applying each additional coat.
For best results apply subsequent coats within 24 hours of the previous coat.

Coverage

The stated average coverage rate may vary depending upon type, condition, porosity, texture of the surface and application technique.

General coverage rate for AZCOSEAL is 4 sq m per litre per coat but it is dependent on the porosity of the surface on which the product is being applied.

Colours

AZCOSEAL is a clear product.

Drying and Curing

Drying and curing of the product is affected by type, dryness and porosity of the surface, temperature, humidity, ventilation, climate conditions and application technique. Therefore drying and curing can only be given as a guide.

At 25oC and 50% RH (per coat)
Touch dry: 2 to 6 hours
Set: 6 to 12 hours
Full cure: 24 to 36 hours

Service Temperature: 10oC to 50oC
Application Temperature: 5oC to 30oC

Storage

AZCOSEAL should be stored in a cool, dry place.
Must be kept clear of all accelerants.
Product is flammable.
Class 3 dangerous goods must be declared prior to transportation.
AZCOSEAL is available in 4 and 20 Lt pails.

Clean Up

All tools and equipment should be cleaned in solvent as soon after completion as practical.

Tiling, Topping or Top Coating

Not recommended as product is usually left exposed

Safety & Precautions

Sealed surfaces may be slippery when wet.
The use of solvent-resistant gloves, mask and eye protection is recommended.
Observe the safety precautions on the Product data sheet and Material safety Data Sheet.

For full safety data refer to the product's Material Safety Data Sheet. Observe precautions as per label

Tests and Technical Data

Shelf Life: Up to 12 months in unopened containers and 6 months after resealing open pails. The above data is based on 25oC and 50% RH. Performance and shelf life can vary when stored in extreme conditions
